Footstep comes in with a lean, springy dancehall pulse that feels more nimble than aggressive, all quick steps and forward motion rather than big, rattling low-end punishment. The cut most people will clock is Danny English and Egg Nogg’s “I Like Your Style, ” which turns up on the riddim’s 20-track run and helped anchor the set when Fire Ball Records put it out in 2003 under Sugar Roy’s production.
