Footprint Riddim – Hideaph Productions

Hideaph Productions kept Footprint Riddim lean in 2014, and that sparseness is part of the charm: just three cuts, with Laden’s “Tek On Di Road” doing the heavy lifting and setting the tone for the whole thing. The name says enough about the feel — road-ready, springy dancehall built for movement rather than polish — and OC’s “Top Personnel” and Axygen’s “Rave All Night” round it out with the same no-frills energy. There’s a nice directness to the production here; it doesn’t crowd the vocals, it just gives them enough bounce and bite to land. A small, tight juggling, released in June 2014, but it hangs together like something made for the dance first.
