Fly Trap Riddim has that lean, 80-BPM dancehall glide that lets the voices do the talking. Lockecity Music Group lines up Tony Curtis, Nitty Kutchie, Gyptian, Erup and the newer names around them, and the sweet spot is how Gyptian’s “Look At Her Lips” sits against the tougher, more streetwise cuts without losing the riddim’s easy bounce. Tony Curtis comes in smooth on “Bubble Pon Me, ” while Swashii’s “High Grade” and Erup’s “Grimmy Life” push the same rhythm into grittier territory, which feels very much in Lockecity’s lane at this point.
