Everything I Own Riddim – Unknown Label

Built around Augustus Pablo and Bunny Striker Lee, Everything I Own Riddim dates from 1974 and pulls together a small but strong set of voices from the era, including Ken Boothe on Everything I Own, I-Roy on Set Me Free, and Augustus Pablo himself on Universal Love. Boothe’s version was the big crossover cut from the session, and the rhythm also connects to the wider early-’70s reggae moment when Pablo was shaping his own melodic style and Lee was cutting some of the era’s most durable productions. The result is a compact roots-era showcase with a standout title track and a distinctive, slightly reflective feel running through the whole release.
