Eva Bless Riddim – Lonedon Entertainment

By the time Lonedon Entertainment issued Eva Bless Riddim in late 2019, the label was working in the familiar one-riddim format but keeping the cast fairly tight, with eight artists across 14 cuts and a few raw versions folded in for the DJs. The production leans into a clean, stripped dancehall swing rather than anything overly busy: clipped drums, a rubbery low end, and just enough melodic movement to leave space for the singers and deejays. Gage’s “Bonnie and Clyde” and Hyodyne’s pair of songs give the project its centre of gravity, while Prohgres’ “Heart Of A Lion” and Aska Lyrical’s “Unfair Trial” add a more disciplined, message-minded edge. It plays like a compact 2019 dancehall set, moving at a steady mid-tempo with the bass kept deep and the vocals pushed right up front.
