Dutty Rain Riddim – 3d1 Productions

A gritty, rain-soaked dancehall groove runs through Dutty Rain Riddim, all skittering percussion and a dark, damp pulse that leaves plenty of room for the vocals to bite. Anthony Cruz’s “I Like” keeps it slick and melodic, while Turbulence goes at the same rhythm twice on “Bun Bad Mind” in edit and raw form, pushing the tune into harder territory and giving the riddim its real edge. Vernon Bryan’s version cut rounds things out without cluttering the frame, so the whole set stays lean and focused.
