Dutchie Riddim – Yardie Muzik

Seven cuts deep and all of them lean into that food-and-weed wordplay, with Kemmikal getting the strongest stretch here on “A Di Herbs” and “Hardcore, ” while Teejay’s “Open Up” and Figga’s “Buss A Bad Wine” keep the energy bouncing around the hooky side of dancehall. Yardie Muzik keeps the Dutchie Riddim light on its feet but still firm in the bass, the sort of clean, skanking instrumental that leaves plenty of room for the deejays to work the angle without crowding the pocket. Le Truk and Check’s “Keep On Moving” adds another catchy pass through the riddim, and Food Kartel’s “Cook It Inna” pushes the same theme from a different corner. Released in 2017, the set runs seven tracks in all, closing with Yardie Muzik’s own “Dutchie Riddim” version.
