Due Riddim keeps the energy tight and sunlit, with that springy soca bounce that sits right between carnival-ready movement and straight-up dancehall attitude. Tifa’s “Get Flat” leans into the cheekier side of the rhythm, while Beenie Man turns up twice on “Nuvo, ” giving the tune a wider reach with both the clean edit and the raw cut. That little detail says a lot about how the project was packaged in 2011: one riddim, two lanes, and a hook designed to work in more than one setting. Maxamusic Production had this out through the GoodThyme Click/MaxaMusic Group setup, and the whole thing fits neatly into the period when soca and dancehall were crossing over more freely on the party circuit.
