Dawiz Records’ 2011 Clappas Riddim sits in that fertile little pocket of early-2010s soca where a tight, three-song lineup could still carry a whole season’s worth of energy, and this one keeps the focus on Merital Family, Que and Richest without overloading the frame. Merital Family’s “Send Him Home” is the lead cut here, while Que’s “Shake It” and Richest’s “Hard Ennuh” keep the pressure moving with that brisk, party-ready pulse and the clipped, handclap-heavy feel the riddim name points toward. Dawiz keeps the production lean and percussive, letting the vocals punch through instead of burying them in too much studio polish. There are only three tracks on the set, which makes the whole thing feel more like a sharp snapshot than a sprawling compilation.
