DR GIGGLES RIDDIM produced by VARIOUS ARTISTS 2007
Dr Giggles Overview
Back in 2007, dancehall was full of energy. Bashment sessions were everywhere, and selectors loved to play the hottest riddims. One tape that stood out was based on the Dr Giggles Riddim, produced by VARIOUS ARTISTS. This producer is known for bringing together different voices and styles, and has helped shape the sound of Jamaican dancehall. Their projects often show up in selectors’ crates when they want a true dancehall vibe. On this tape, D'angel brings her song "No Pop Down." D'angel is well known in the dancehall world and has worked with top names like Beenie Man. Her strong voice and style always light up a track. Danny English comes in with "Dancers Marchout." He is famous for his hit "Party Time" with Egg Nog, which was a big tune in the early 2000s. Patchy’s "Go Baby" brings more fire to the session. Qq and Little Richie join forces on "Stuckie 2 Feat. Little Richie." Qq is best known for his breakout hit "Stookie" from when he was just ten years old. Little Richie’s voice adds extra flair to the track. Wissy’s "Wine" also gets a forward from the crowd. Even now, selectors still pull out this yard session tape when they want to bring back real old-school dancehall energy.
