DIXIE RIDDIM produced by BASS RUNNER PRODUCTIONS 2012
Dixie Overview
In 2012, reggae and dancehall were seeing new energy from young artists and producers. The Dixie Riddim dub project arrived during this time, bringing a fresh roots sound to the scene. BASS RUNNER PRODUCTIONS, the producer behind this project, is known for blending classic reggae vibes with modern touches. Based in Austria, the label has worked with both European and Jamaican artists, creating tracks that reach listeners worldwide. The Dixie Riddim project gave several young singers a chance to shine. Deliman, an Austrian reggae artist, brought his smooth style to the song "Dont Worry Girl." Emiliano And 3gga, a duo who have worked together on multiple tracks, contributed the powerful song "Illegal." Flixx N Hooch And Serengeti teamed up for "Rudeboy," adding a strong dancehall flavor to the riddim. Jaqee, a singer originally from Uganda and now based in Sweden, is known for her soulful voice. She added depth to the project with "Face Off." Jaqee has also been recognized for her album "Kokoo Girl," which was nominated for a Swedish Grammy. Luke Rich completed the artist line-up with the track "Dixie Riddim," capturing the spirit of the whole project. Together, these artists made the Dixie Riddim a standout cultural release in 2012. The project remains a strong example of how roots reggae can give new voices a platform and connect different cultures through music.
