Dgaping Riddim – O.S. Productions

Back in 2012, when dancehall and soca were crossing paths all over the islands, O. S. Productions dropped D’Gaping Riddim with a cast that leans straight into that party-season energy. Blaxx’s “No Sah” has the kind of sharp, nagging hook that sticks after one spin, while Patrice Roberts’ “Hold Him” gives the riddim a more playful, flirtatious edge. Ace’s “Step Out” and Kimba Sorzano’s “U. C. L” keep the pace moving, and Ricochae’s “Stamina” and Rita Jones’ “Cya Tie Me Down” add plenty of waistline business to the mix. It’s the sort of juggling that sat nicely in that early-2010s Trinidad dancehall-soca moment, when producers were chasing big, carnival-ready cuts without losing the rougher dancehall swing.
