Deadline Riddim comes with that sharp, staccato dancehall pull — tight drums, heavy low end, and just enough space in the pocket for the deejays to lean into the rhythm rather than rush past it. Eldoh Rado Productions keeps the lineup compact, and that helps the project feel focused: Plan Boss comes out swinging on “Phat Shot, ” Vybz Tea pushes the money-minded charge of “Go Get The Money, ” and Frassvyce adds a harder edge with “Murder Yuh. ” There’s also a nice bit of contrast from Exstacy Kid’s “Touch Down” and Frasswell’s “Dem Nuh Real, ” which keep the riddim from settling into one mood too long. The strongest pull here is the way Plan Boss locks into the beat on “Phat Shot, ” giving the whole set its first real jolt and setting the tone for the rest of the cut.
