Produced by DJ Lethal Vybz, Damage Riddim landed in 2020 as a straight dancehall set with 13 tracks and a wide artist mix that runs from Pamputtae’s Put on a Show and Iyara’s Upstairs to Krucial Diva’s First Time and the Swick Don and Skystar cut Foreign Badness. The rhythm also ties in Bryka’s Wash Me in the Blood and JStvrr’s Celebrate, giving the project a mix of street-ready dancehall and a few more conscious touches. Based in Toronto, DJ Lethal Vybz has used this release as part of a run of Canada-linked and Jamaican collaborations, and Damage Riddim helped set the tone for the Foreign Badness movement that followed.
