Dusty bass and mid-tempo swing give Cornerstone Riddim a warm, rootsy feel, with Xandor Records and Sound Domain Studio keeping the arrangements lean enough for the voices to do the heavy lifting. Ras Brando’s pleading “I Need You” and Benjaminz’s “Tell Me When” set the tone early, while Natural Mistic’s “Politician” and Skarpyon’s “Hard Times” push the cut into tougher social territory. Kingsley Anowi linking with Benjaminz on “Let Me” adds a nice duet spark, and Big Mel’s “Soldiers” keeps the militant edge in view before the version closes it out.
