Come Home Overview
Digital B, one of Jamaica’s important reggae labels, is the force behind the Come Home riddim. The label, founded by producer Bobby Digital (Bobby Dixon), became known for shaping the sound of 1990s reggae and dancehall. Digital B’s influence reached far, with Bobby Digital producing hits for top artists and helping to modernize reggae with digital production techniques. On the Come Home riddim, four standout artists brought their own style. Cocoa Tea’s “Go Home Soundboy” is a favorite among reggae fans. Cocoa Tea is well known for his smooth voice and hits like “Rikers Island.” Delroy Wilson, a respected singer from the rocksteady and reggae era, shines with “won't You Come Home.” Wilson’s career began at Studio One, and he is remembered for classics such as “Better Must Come.” Garnet Silk’s “Place In Your Heart” brings a warm, rootsy energy to the riddim. Garnet Silk became a rising star in the early 1990s, and his album “It's Growing” is a reggae essential. Sanchez, known for his soulful voice and ability to blend reggae with R&B, adds “Shower Me With Your Love.” Sanchez’s version shows why he is loved for both lovers rock and gospel reggae songs. The Come Home riddim, produced by Digital B, echoed through sound system nights across Jamaica. Its percussion and mellow groove made it stand out. The recording remains one of the cultural drops of 1992, capturing a moment when reggae was moving forward but still honoring its roots.
