Digital English comes at the Here I Come riddim from a roots angle, reworking a foundation that traces back to the 1974 cut and lining it with eight songs in 2021. The set leans on Roman Stewart twice, with “Love and Hate (Remix)” and “Cohdeh” framing the sequence, while Digital English slips in a dub version of “Love and Hate” to keep the project moving between vocal cuts and a more stripped-back echo chamber feel. Tony Brevrette’s “Don’t Get Weary, ” the Meditations’ “Tribal War, ” and Tony Tuff’s “Hell of a Woman” give it the kind of veteran-heavy cast that suits the rhythm’s old-school pull.
