Chiredzi Riddim – Solid Records

Chiredzi Riddim is a 2015 dancehall release from Solid Records, with 12 cuts from nine artists and a strong Zimbabwean flavour running through the project. Chesto Blaster turns up twice with Kurova Mangoma and Raramo, while Hullo Tings adds Saiza Chiredzi and Tumirai Ngoma, alongside songs from DJ Bruce Lee, F. D, Juggle City, Kalabash, Katalambano, Kay Dem and Timbar. Solid Records, which began in Chiredzi before later moving its base to Harare, ties the whole set together with a local-rooted sound and a tracklist that leans heavily on Shona titles and street-level dancehall energy.
