Pool Side Riddim – Simple Solid Records

In 2022, Simple Solid Records put out Pool Side Riddim, a Zimdancehall-flavoured dancehall juggling with 13 tracks and 14 different voices. The lineup brings in Chief Doctor on Kurunga, Culture Love on Swimming Pool, Flex Tattle on Machine Gun, Lee Man on Nhamo, Leekay T on Kuenda Kumusoro, Nuttive on Contract, and Seh Lino on Chikomba, with Show Stopper featuring Lady Bee on Number 1 adding another highlight. The instrumental is credited to Simplesolid, and Van Choga’s Musandidaro also links the project to the wider Zim dancehall scene. Simple Solid Records, which has appeared on other Zimbabwean releases around the same period, keeps the riddim rooted in local crossover energy while still giving the compilation a clean, party-ready feel.
