Challenge Riddim (2015) – Charlie Pro Records

Challenge Riddim lands with a lean, mid-2010s dancehall pulse: sharp, digital, and tuned for the soundsystem rather than the lounge. Charlie Pro Records keeps the focus tight across the nine-track set, and the strongest link is between the production and Hot Frass on “Hypnotize, ” where the vocal phrasing rides the beat with a nicely restless edge. Skillibeng’s “Memories” is another one to catch, especially knowing how much this early cut hints at the darker, more clipped style he’d later lean into. Stein turns up twice with “Oh Oh Ohhhh, ” in raw and radio form, which gives the riddim a little extra replay value, and the whole thing closes with the producer’s own version tucked on at the end, almost like a signature scribbled in the margin.
