Carnival Overview
When Carnival Riddim was released in 2014, fans across the Caribbean responded with excitement. The riddim’s infectious energy quickly made it a favorite on carnival trucks and stages. Many described it as the perfect soundtrack for the season’s biggest celebrations. Kes The Band brought their signature sound to the project with "Spirit." The group is well known for their hit "Wotless," which won the International Soca Monarch title in 2011, and their strong presence on the soca scene added weight to the riddim. Blaxx delivered "Hooray," bringing his powerful vocals and high-energy style. Blaxx, who was a member of Roy Cape All Stars, is celebrated for songs like "Leh Go" and has been a staple in soca for years. Jw & Blaze contributed "Somebody," adding their unique flair. The duo is famous for their massive 2010 hit "Palance," which became a dance craze across the region. Nikita Browne’s "Solo" brought a romantic touch to the collection, while Ola Tunji Yearwood’s "What We Know" showcased his vibrant delivery. Ola Tunji is known for his energetic performances and his 2014 Road March contender "Ola." The project was directed by a carnival director and released on the NU GENERATION STUDIOS label. NU GENERATION STUDIOS has a history of producing popular soca releases and is recognized for its work with both emerging and established artists. Today, the truck anthem base from Carnival Riddim still gets play during Carnival flashbacks, reminding fans of the excitement and unity the music brought to the road.
