In 2017, the carnival season was filled with vibrant soca music, and the Captivation Riddim became a favorite track base for masqueraders. This energetic riddim, produced by BACK AH YARD RECORDS, was heard everywhere during the year’s biggest fetes. BACK AH YARD RECORDS is known for their strong presence in Caribbean music, working with many soca and dancehall artists and building a reputation for catchy, dance-ready productions. The Captivation Riddim compilation brought together several standout artists. Alma Boy delivered "Boom Boom Bad Up," a song that quickly became popular at parties. Brother B added his own style with "That Feeling." Brother B is also known for his earlier hit "Sweat," which helped him gain recognition in the soca scene. Kennedy’s "Fight Them Away" showed his energetic approach, while Mad Ras contributed "Party Crasher," bringing a festive mood to the collection. Mandella Linkz, who is famous for his viral hit "Touch Down," added "Power" to the riddim, giving fans another reason to dance. Other tracks included Mushman feat.
