Bring It Back Riddim – Lanzie Music

By 2019, soca was leaning hard into carnival-season energy, and Bring It Back Riddim fits that moment with a tight, six-to-eight-minute-style party run that keeps the pace brisk and the hooks sharp. Lanzie Music has the set moving with a clear lead-off in Kerry John’s title cut, then hands the spotlight to Aaron Duncan, Bunji Garlin, and Lyrikal, three voices who give the riddim plenty of range without breaking its momentum. Bunji’s “Raise Them” and Viking Ding Dong’s “Greatness” feel like the key turns here, with the latter earning a second pass in unplugged form that changes the texture without changing the mood. The project is sequenced like a DJ-minded carnival mix: one strong anthem after another, a little contrast in the middle, then that acoustic reset before Sum1’s “Fakeness” closes it out.
