Bomb Rush Riddim – Scare Dem Muzic 1998
Bomb Rush Overview
In 1998, Shocking Vibes Productions released the Bomb Rush Riddim, a club-ready dancehall project that left a strong mark on the genre. The riddim was produced by Patrick Roberts, a well-known figure in Jamaican music and the founder of Shocking Vibes. Roberts is recognized for his work with top dancehall artists, including his management of Beenie Man during the 1990s. Bomb Rush Riddim brought together some of dancehall’s most exciting voices. Bounty Killer delivered the standout track “Bomb Rush.” By this time, Bounty Killer was already an international star, known for hits like “Look” and collaborations with artists such as No Doubt. His commanding voice on “Bomb Rush” fit perfectly with the riddim’s energy. Daily Bread’s “Wuk Ina Haste” added a playful vibe, while Elephant Man’s “Cassandra” showed the early energy that would later make him famous for songs like “Pon De River, Pon De Bank.” Saba Tooth brought his own style to “2 Hour Or More,” giving the riddim even more variety. Instrumental fans enjoyed “Bomb Rush Version” by Sly And Robbie With Jazzwad. Sly & Robbie, the legendary rhythm duo, have won Grammy Awards and worked with stars from Grace Jones to Black Uhuru. Their touch on this version gave the riddim extra depth. Other tracks like Stone Dyce’s “Bad Smell” and Tenor Senior’s “Mighty & Bold” rounded out the project, making it a favorite for both selectors and fans.
