Bogle Fever Overview

In 1993, a group of producers and musicians gathered in the studio to create a new dancehall rhythm. The goal was to capture the lively energy of Jamaica’s dancehall scene. The track builder chose a fast, bouncing beat with catchy melodies, aiming to make people move on the dancefloor. Every sound was carefully placed to give the rhythm a strong, infectious feel. WORLD RECORDS, the label behind this project, played a key role in the dancehall industry during the early 1990s. The label is known for releasing several influential rhythms and helping many artists reach a wider audience. Their work with this rhythm added to their reputation for quality and creativity in Jamaican music. Several well-known artists voiced their tracks on this rhythm. Anthony Redrose delivered “Put Down You,” bringing his signature vocal style. Redrose is respected for his earlier hit “Tempo,” which helped shape digital dancehall. Cutlure Knox contributed “Depend Pon Man,” adding his unique flow and presence. Daddy Lizzard performed “All Fruits Rotten,” showing his skill as a deejay. Dirtsman, known for the popular song “Hot This Year,” brought energy to the rhythm with “Powpow.” General Degree, who later found success with “Traffic Blocking,” added “Tax” to the lineup. This classic bashment rhythm quickly became a favorite in yard playlists, capturing the true sound of 1993 dancehall.
