Already you can hear the curve MNC Records was after here: a compact 2006 reggae set with only five cuts, anchored by Luciano’s “Do You Love Me” and padded by Elijah Prophet, Howard Cox and Yemerett. It’s a small lineup, but that also keeps the spotlight on the rhythm itself, which moves with a warm, rootsy lift rather than any flashy studio trickery. Luciano is the name that jumps out, and his track sits right in the middle, like the producer wanted the strongest voice to be the hinge between the opening and closing songs.
