BLESSINGS RIDDIM produced by VARIOUS ARTISTS 2007
Blessings Overview
In 2007, a group of reggae musicians came together in the studio to create a special rhythm project. The energy in the studio was focused and positive, as artists and musicians worked closely to shape a roots reggae sound that would last. The studio hand helped guide the creative direction, making sure each artist’s style fit together on the same rhythm. The project was produced by VARIOUS ARTISTS, a name used for collaborative reggae releases. VARIOUS ARTISTS projects are common in reggae, especially for rhythm albums where many singers record over the same instrumental. These projects are often released on labels that support roots reggae and have helped many singers reach new audiences. Anthony John brought his song "In The Fire" to the set, adding soulful vocals and thoughtful lyrics. Braveheart contributed "Joy," bringing an uplifting message. Color Red’s "Dont Cry For Me" stood out with its heartfelt delivery. Empress Omega’s "Can't Stop I" showed her strong voice and determination. Neriuos Joseph, known for his work with The Reggae Regulars, added "Got To Get Away," giving the project a classic roots feel. Other tracks included Sista Band’s "Instrumental," Sista Ft Vyris and Vyris - Blessings both with "Blessings," Trilla Jenna’s "Focus," and Vivian Jones’ "Can Hear Your Voice." Together, these songs captured the conscious vibes of 2007 and made the project a lasting roots reggae favorite.
