BLACK RAIN RIDDIM produced by BOMB RUSH RECORDS 2006
Black Rain Overview
In 2006, the reggae scene felt a new wave of roots energy with the release of the Black Rain Riddim. The journey began in the studios of BOMB RUSH RECORDS, a label known for pushing fresh sounds into the dancehall and reggae world. BOMB RUSH RECORDS had already made a name for itself with several successful riddims, and this time, they wanted to create something with a deep, soulful bass and a classic rocksteady flow. The roots selector behind the project carefully chose artists who could bring out the richness of the riddim. Each artist was given space to add their own style, making sure the roots vibes stayed strong from start to finish. Alaine brought her smooth vocals to "Shoulda Never," adding emotion and power. Alaine is well known for her hit "No Ordinary Love," and her voice always stands out in reggae. Assassin teamed up with Spragga Benz for "Ova Ya," blending sharp lyrics with Spragga's veteran presence. Spragga Benz is respected for songs like "She Nuh Ready Yet (Hype Up)" and has worked with international stars. Cecile added her signature edge to "Some A Da Ting Deh." Danielle’s "Ready Fah" kept the energy high, while Monster Twins delivered "Gal Want Sexin," giving the riddim a playful twist. Looking back, fans remember how the Black Rain Riddim captured the roots spirit of 2006.
