BLACK PUNCH RIDDIM produced by J.S.S MUSIC 2012
Black Punch Overview
If you love dancehall, you probably remember the Black Punch Riddim from 2012. This project became a true sound of the dancehall party scene that year. The riddim brought together artists with different styles, and the result was a fresh blend of dancehall energy and influences from other genres. Vybz Kartel, one of dancehall’s biggest stars, dropped “Black Punch Riddim” on this project. Kartel was already famous for hits like “Clarks” and his album “King of the Dancehall.” His voice and flow gave the riddim a powerful start. Seiz followed with “Pull Up,” adding sharp lyrics and a street vibe. Danjaah Taï’s “Mash Up Di Thing” brought a raw, energetic feel that made people want to dance. Pompis offered “A No We Dat,” showing his unique style that mixes dancehall with Caribbean pop, just like in his well-known album “Starboy.” Rinox’s “Call Of” added more fire, blending catchy hooks with the riddim’s party beat. The riddim’s sound stands out because it mixes the heavy dancehall bass with touches of electronic and hip hop. This made it perfect for parties but also interesting to listen to at home. Behind it all was J.S.S MUSIC, the producer who built the riddim. J.S.S MUSIC is known for pushing dancehall forward, and has worked with both new and established artists across the genre. The way he layered the beats and kept the energy high made Black Punch Riddim a touchstone in 2012. This riddim brought unity to the dancehall scene and showed how collaboration can shape the sound of a whole year.
