Black Flag Overview
The energy behind the Black Flag Riddim started in the studio, where musicians and producers gathered to create a sound that would capture the true spirit of Carnival. The carnival director gave clear creative direction, asking for a rhythm that would make people want to dance and wave their flags. This vision guided every part of the production, from the choice of instruments to the final mix. ISLAND SHAK ENTERTAINMENT, the producer behind the riddim, played a key role. Known for bringing fresh sounds to the soca and Caribbean music scene, ISLAND SHAK ENTERTAINMENT has produced several projects that have become favorites at parties and on radio. Their work often blends traditional soca with modern club vibes, and Black Flag Riddim is a strong example of this style. Three artists brought their own flavor to the riddim. Dat, performing as C DQ, delivered the track "Hoyo." This song stood out for its catchy hooks and lively performance, making it a favorite in DJ sets. Caspa G, known for the song "Soca Christmas," also joined the project. "Soca Christmas" is one of Caspa G’s most recognized tracks and has helped him gain a loyal following in the soca community. Dapixel contributed with "Black Flag Riddim," adding another layer of energy and excitement to the set. During Carnival 2022, these songs filled the parade with joy. DJs kept reloading the tracks, and the crowd responded with cheers and dancing.
