Big Star Riddim – BYG Family Musik

2003 was deep in that raw, hard-edged dancehall moment, and Big Star Riddim fits right into it with a lean six-song set from BYG Family Musik. The cut feels built for the sound system: stern drum patterns, clipped synth stabs and enough space for each voice to cut through without crowding the riddim. Danny English comes in swinging on “Burn Them, ” Lexxus keeps things direct on “Big Star, ” and Mega Banton’s “Desparate” adds a grittier veteran touch. Mr Pepper and Killish’s “Girls Spree” pushes the energy back up before Raww Deal’s “Let Me In” and Showki Ru’s “Hands In The Air” close it out with the kind of party-ready momentum that keeps the instrumental front and centre.
