Bayi Riddim hits with a stripped, hardcore dancehall pulse, the kind that leaves space for the vocals to do the damage while the bassline keeps everything taut and prickly. Released on September 22, 2021, it runs nine cuts in just under 30 minutes, with Bristol’s Yam and Banana handling the production under Uri Green’s direction. Da Fuchaman’s “Step Pon Dem” and Peppery’s “Chinese Food” are two of the sharper turns here, while Jah Garvey, Norris Brown, and Tasungie each push the rhythm in a slightly different direction without breaking its dark momentum.
