Xpert Productions’ Base Coat Riddim arrived in 2023 with four soca cuts from Preedy, Tallpree, L. E. D and Slatta, including Preedy’s No More Rum and Tallpree’s Good Liqher. The set also features Ah See You and Slatta’s Under Rum (Remix), with Boyzie added on the remix, and the titles alone tell you this one leans into the rum-fuelled party side of the season. At just four tracks and a little over 11 minutes, it has the tight, focused feel that makes Xpert’s catalog easy to spot, with catchy vocal hooks and a playful carnival-ready energy running through the whole release.
