Bad Lawf Riddim – Redkamp Productions

Redkamp’s Bad Lawf Riddim takes a harder, more street-level turn than the smoother French dancehall pieces the label sometimes circles around, locking into a lean 2019 juggling with a grimy pulse and plenty of space for each voice to cut through. The set moves with a cold, clipped bassline and sharp drum programming, and the standout cuts lean into that tension: Mad Killah’s “Lawf After Dem” has real bite, while Ronegga’s “Mercenaire” and Smokey B’s “Fully Loaded” push the militant mood a little further. Caporal Negus and Gblaxxx keep the energy high early on, and the closer, Wyckyd J’s “Ong Bak, ” lands like a final flex, leaving the riddim on a tough, combative note rather than a polished one.
