Bad Khalifa Riddim – Marcus Production

Bad Khalifa Riddim comes in as a French dancehall set with a hard, propulsive edge, the kind of riddim that leaves plenty of space for the voices but keeps the pressure on underneath. Kalash’s “Kal” is the obvious headline cut here, with Tiwony’s “Longtime” and Colonel Reyel’s “Pour Les Miens” also giving the project some lift, while Amfatik doubling up on “Pwofil” and “Inspi La” adds a little extra weight to the lineup. Marcus keeps it tight across ten tracks, and the sequencing leans into quick-hit song lengths, most of them sitting just over two and a half minutes, so the whole thing moves fast and stays focused. Released in 2019, it runs ten tracks deep with nine different artists across the bill.
