Jah Cure

Siccature Alcock, born on 11 October 1978 in Hanover, Jamaica, is a reggae recording artist. His fans have become to know him as the King of Lovers Rock and also roots reggae. In March 1997, he did a collaboration with Sizzla, a single titled “King in this Jungle” which Beres Hammond produced and subsequently became Cure’s mentor. They went on tour together to the Caribbean Islands and Europe. After being stopped by the police whilst driving in Montego Bay in November 1998, Cure was arrested on counts of rape, gun possession, and robbery. He was prosecuted at Gun Court in April 1999 and found guilty. He was sentenced to a total of 15 years imprisonment. Cure released 3 albums at a studio that the inmates were allowed to use at Tower Street Adult Correctional Centre. Free Jah’s Cure The Album The Truth, Ghetto Life, and Freedom Blues were released in 2000, 2003, and 2005 respectively. True Reflections…A New Beginning was released 3 days after Cure had been released on parole on 28 July 2007 after having served 8 years in prison. In August 2007, he performed at the Reggae Sundance festival in the Netherlands at his 1st concert after being released on parole. On 14 April 2009, The Universal Cure was released as the 5th album. “Unconditional Love” was a smashing hit released at the end of 2010 which he featured Phyllisia and “Like I See It” was the 2nd single he did with Mavado and Rick Ross released by SoBe Entertainment. January 2013 saw the release of World Cry, which was his 6th album. In July 2015, The Cure was released as his 7th album and it was nominated at the Grammy Awards in 2016 in the category of Best Reggae Album. Royal Soldier is his latest album which was released on VP Records in August 2019. Some of the singles that came with the album are “Life Is Real”, “Marijuana”, “Telephone Love”, “Pretty Face”, and “Risk It All.” He has also done many collaborations with many artists, proving his undeniable gift in music.
