Blak Ryno

Romaine Anderson, known as Blak Ryno was born in December 1984. He is a Jamaican dancehall artist who was born and raised in Waterford, Portmore, Jamaica. Romaine attended Bridgeport High School where he picked up music and joined a 7 member group called the East Side. From there, with links to Vybz Kartel, Romaine was able to perform for Di Teacher and was given his big break after impressing him. After joining the Portmore Empire, he released his first single Shelle-le-le on Siren Riddim in 2005. He then officially signed onto Kartel’s label Adidjaheim Records in 2007 and had a string of hit tracks which include Bike Back, Bawl Out and Bend Over.

Blak Ryno established himself as Kartel’s right-hand man and toured all over the world going to places like France and Switzerland representing dancehall and the Portmore Empire. It was not long before he decided to go his own way. In 2010 he left the empire and consequently changed his name to Ryno Di Stinger. He remains in the game and is still finding his way. He is not as prolific as other dancehall stars but his unique flow is still very relevant in a competitive industry. His latest songs include Feel The Vibes and Murderous which have mild success but I’m sure there is more to come from the Portmore native.
