Arrow In Shadow Riddim – Yanmassen Kenamasse

A lean three-cut set from 2014, Arrow In Shadow Riddim keeps the focus tight with Jah Sun’s “Babylon Funeral, ” Lion D’s “Dubstepper, ” and Virtus’s “It Haffi Fall, ” all cut over a dubstep-leaning roots framework that gives the vocals plenty of room to sit on top of the mix. Jah Sun opens with a militant edge, Lion D leans into the title’s darker pulse, and Virtus closes the circle with one of the sharper hooks on the project, while Yanmassen Kenamasse’s production keeps the whole thing jagged and bass-heavy without losing the reggae backbone.
