The AMF Riddim sits in that lean 2006 dancehall pocket where the rhythm does the talking and the voicings just have to keep up. Ditrich’s “La Ri La” has the sort of hooky, chant-like feel that sticks after one spin, while LL’s “Westyle” leans into a sharper, more swaggering delivery that gives the riddim a little extra bite. Makb’s “La Vie” adds a more reflective edge, and NNS closes things out with “Dubplate, ” which feels like the cut most likely aimed at selectors. With just four tracks, it’s a compact little set, and the fact that it surfaced in the middle of 2006 gives it that mid-era dancehall flavour, right before the sound started shifting into a newer, more digital phase.
