Teddy Rhymez opens the Amethyst Riddim set with “You and I, ” and that’s a smart entry point: his cut carries the kind of sweet, hooky energy that helps a soca juggling stick. Adigun Productions keeps the riddim moving with a brisk, carnival-ready bounce, bright synth colors and a steady pulse that leaves room for both party chants and smoother melodic lines. Valene Nedd’s “Action, ” Piper’s “Vibes Innah Party (Vip), ” and Don-Jahmel’s “Play Mas” lean into the road-march side of the project, while Michel Mahon’s “Imagine” softens the edges a little without losing the drive. The instrumental closes the circle neatly, and the whole release fits neatly into that 2019 wave of Trinidad-and-Band-island soca riddims built for fetes, road days and late-night replay.
