AH WHA RIDDIM produced by 1992

In the early 1990s, the dancehall scene was searching for fresh energy. That’s when the Ah Wha Riddim was born. The riddim’s journey started in a small Kingston studio, where sound engineer Anthony Haughton shaped the punchy, drill-inspired rhythm. The riddim was designed for the dance floor, and it didn’t take long for selectors to notice its impact. The tape quickly became a favorite at yard sessions. Anthony Haughton stepped up with “Without Love, ” bringing his own vocal touch to the riddim he helped craft. The tape also featured Daddy Freddy and Shaggy Wonder with their energetic “Yes We Are The Champions. ” Daddy Freddy, known for his rapid-fire delivery and the Guinness World Record for fastest rapper, brought extra excitement to the session. Judy and Bubbles delivered “Life Nu Fear, ” adding a different flavor and showing the riddim’s versatility. Louie Rankin, famous for his hit “Typewriter” and his role in the film “Belly, ” appeared twice with “Divert” and “Typewriter, ” giving the tape a heavyweight presence. Madalion’s “Slamming Body” brought more fire to the lineup, keeping the energy high. Every track was carefully recorded and mixed, making the tape stand out. The riddim’s tight production and lively performances made it an instant classic. Dancehall selectors still rate this 2021 yard session tape, spinning it for crowds who love the original 1992 sound. The Ah Wha Riddim’s journey from studio to sound system shows how a well-made riddim can last for decades.
