AFRO PUFF RIDDIM produced by DWAINGEROUS 2023
Afro Puff Overview
The story of the Afro Puff Riddim began backstage at one of the Caribbean’s biggest carnivals. The carnival director, always searching for a new sound to light up the parade, reached out to producer DWAINGEROUS. Known for his sharp ear and energetic productions, DWAINGEROUS had already made a name for himself with tracks that racked up millions of streams and brought fresh life to the soca scene. He took the challenge seriously, shaping a riddim that captured the heart of carnival, blending classic soca vibes with a modern twist. Once the riddim was ready, the word spread quickly. Artists lined up to put their stamp on the infectious beat. King Bubba and Nikita teamed up for “De Cure,” a track that instantly set parties in motion. Their chemistry was undeniable, and the song became a crowd favorite. Koolface followed with “Miley,” bringing his unique style and energy that fans have come to expect. Lil Rick, who’s known for hits like “Gym Instructor,” delivered “Proud,” adding his signature voice to the mix. Nailah Blackman, a Soca Monarch finalist and granddaughter of Ras Shorty I, brought “My Rum” to the table, celebrating her family’s legacy. Patrice Roberts, famous for “Mind My Business,” joined with Mole De Chief for “Ben In De Road,” a true parade anthem. From the studio to the streets, the Afro Puff Riddim became the heartbeat of carnival 2023. Each artist brought their own flavor, but together, they created a festival highlight that will be remembered for years to come.
