Achievements Riddim – Panta Son Production

Panta Son’s 2013 Achievements Riddim sits a little apart from the more sprawling, star-heavy dancehall compilations of the period: it’s a tight five-track set, with Hyah Slyce, Vybrant, Jedani, Jahmiel and Propa Fade all cutting their own space over the same pattern. The production has that early-2010s Jamaican dancehall snap, with a lean drum program, clipped melodic figures and a bassline that stays firm rather than overworking the groove. Jahmiel’s Fight For Your Right gives the riddim its clearest hook, while Propa Fade’s Burn A Rapist pushes the project into darker, more confrontational territory. Hyah Slyce’s See Them and Vybrant’s Africa keep the vocal approach direct and uncluttered, riding a mid-tempo pace that lets each singer land every line cleanly.
