6.3 RIDDIM produced by NINE MIND ENTERTAINMENT/LENKEY RECORDS 2017
6.3 Overview
The story of the 6.3 Riddim begins in the studio, where the energy of Carnival was captured and shaped into sound. Behind the boards, NINE MIND ENTERTAINMENT/LENKEY RECORDS brought years of production experience. The label is known for its work in both reggae and soca, and has helped push Caribbean music onto streaming platforms worldwide. In 2017, the team set out to create a riddim that would echo the festival groove of the season. The result was a seamless blend of soca and dancehall, with a rhythm that seemed to roll in like the tide. Studio hands worked long hours, layering percussion and melody, making sure every note would move the crowd. Soon, the artists stepped in. Vybz Kartel, a major figure in dancehall and known for hits like "Fever," voiced "Reverb No Delay," bringing his signature flow to the riddim. Busy Signal, respected for songs like "Stay So," added "Go Again," his vocals riding the beat with skill. Qq teamed up with Salty for "Waist Line," a track that quickly became a favorite at fetes. Salty also delivered "Waist Line — Waist Line," keeping the party energy high. M1 joined with "First Time," adding his own touch to the mix. Empire Jason rounded out the lineup with "Tip Pon Yuh Toes." When the riddim dropped, it was more than music—it was the sound of Carnival 2017. Across the islands, masqueraders danced through the streets, the 6.3 Riddim carrying the spirit of the festival from studio to celebration.
