2ND CHANCE RIDDIM produced by ANNEX MUSIC
2nd Chance Overview
In 1995, the mixing board kings of Jamaica shaped the sound of dancehall. Their skill with the controls brought out the best in every artist and riddim, setting the mood for street sessions across the island. ANNEX MUSIC, the producer behind this tape, played an important role in the dancehall scene. The label was known for its sharp, streetwise productions and its focus on new talent. ANNEX MUSIC helped push many young artists forward in the mid-1990s, and their riddims were favorites among selectors. This yard session tape featured some of the era’s top voices. Action Fire gave a strong performance with "Babylon A Run," a song that became one of his most recognized tunes. Determine brought his energetic style to "Bun Dung Vatican," showing why he was respected for his lyrical power. Little Hero, who later gained wider fame with the hit "God Alone," delivered "Tek Him" on this riddim, adding his unique voice to the mix. Lukie D, known for his smooth singing and later his work with the group L.U.S.T., performed "Place Of Glory." Merciless, a major name in dancehall who had chart success with "Mavis," appeared twice with "Gun From Paris" and "How You A Go Say." The tape also included a Version — Instrumental, giving selectors a pure riddim to work with. Selectors played this tape at many yard sessions in 1995, making it a true dancehall classic.
