Madhouse Records came back to the riddim format with Slow Motion in 2023, and the name alone carries weight in dancehall. Dave Kelly’s Madhouse has long been tied to some of the genre’s most durable rhythms, from Fiesta and Joyride to Showtime and Eighty-Five, so this one arrives with real pedigree behind it. The 2023 release landed as a digital EP through Madhouse Records and DubShot.

Slow Motion sits in a smoother, more romantic pocket than the name might suggest. The groove moves at an easy, mid-tempo pace with a glossy, contemporary finish, built for sly dancing rather than clash energy. The production leaves room for the bass to breathe while the synth accents and clean drum pattern keep it polished and radio-ready. It is the kind of riddim that invites melodic singing as much as deejay talk.

The biggest pull comes from the frontline combination of Bounty Killer, Cham and Dexta Daps on the title cut.
