Sting 2000 Riddim – Ochi City Records

Ochi City Records keeps Sting 2000 lean and sharp here, far from a bloated juggling set: just four voices riding a compact 2018 dancehall cut with enough room for each tune to land. Adonvi’s “Weed and Ac” opens the thing with a rough-edged, streetwise bounce, while DJ Virus and Faithful push “Knock It” into more playful territory. Fada Wayne’s “Cross Di Border” and Jah Fabio’s “Ghetto Youths Affi Rise” keep the energy grounded in struggle-talk and movement, which suits the riddim’s tight, no-frills pulse. The last cut leaves the strongest aftertaste, though, because Jah Fabio leans into the militant side of the project and gives the whole set a harder finish.
