Decaf Overview
The festival groove behind this soca compilation began in the studio, where the creative team wanted to capture the energy of Carnival. The composer set out to create a sound that would keep people moving during the season’s biggest celebrations. The direction was clear: blend traditional soca vibes with a fresh twist for 2015. At the heart of this project were MV MUSIC and RIVER NILE PRODUCTIONS. Both are respected names in Caribbean music. MV MUSIC is known for producing several successful dancehall and soca tracks over the years, while RIVER NILE PRODUCTIONS has worked with many top regional artists. Their partnership brought together experience and a real understanding of what makes Carnival music connect with crowds. The compilation features three standout artists. Latty J brings her energy to the track “Bumpa.” She is recognized for her powerful voice and has made a mark in both reggae and soca circles. Vegas appears on “Wire Waist Line.” He is widely known for his hit single “Heads High,” which topped reggae charts internationally and earned him awards and nominations. His addition adds star power and a dancehall edge to the project. War Lincoln (Oc) 10.6 rounds out the lineup with “Boom.” His performance adds a unique flavor, matching the festive spirit of the riddim. All three artists use the platform to showcase their talent, each delivering memorable verses. The songs quickly became part of Carnival road memories, forever linked to the sound of 2015. This compilation stands as a strong example of what happens when creative minds and talented artists come together for the season.
