Explosive Ngoma hits like a Zimbabwe-rooted dancehall cut with a sharp, percussive pulse and a dark, buzzing low end, the kind of rhythm that leaves room for both chant-style hooks and straight-talking street lyrics. Dr Zed keeps the selector busy here with nine tracks and nine different voices, and the mix leans firmly into Zimdancehall rather than chasing any glossy crossover gloss. Azon’s “Open Your Eyes” and Bevin’s “Ndine Idea” set the tone early, while Munya D’s “Zuva Parinobuda” and Ras Lynx’s “Goodas Goodas” keep the riddim moving with that local, rough-edged confidence. Bravoman’s “Love The Way, ” alongside Scarly and Cliffton, adds one of the sharper team-ups on the set, but it’s Viviuun’s “Unombonzi Ani” that leaves the cleanest final mark.
