A warm, mid-tempo roots cut with a little digital edge, Tenshun Riddim leans on taut bass and spaced-out drum work rather than heavy flash, which gives the voices room to do the talking. Rootical Records keeps the set concise at six songs, and the sequencing moves neatly from Sizzla’s militant “War” into Turbulence’s sharper “Cursed Mouth, ” before I Wayne and Fire Star ease things into the more melodic “Set Already. ” Ras Myrhdak, Perfect and The Lambsbread round it out, with the latter’s title tune tying the whole release back to the riddim name. The project first surfaced in 2010.
